| Acacia adunca is found on the tablelands of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales. This region has a high annual rainfall and winter frosts are common. The common name of Wallangarra Wattle refers to the town on the border of New South Wales and Queensland. The flowers are bright yellow spheres borne in simple racemes about 30 mm long. They arise near and at the ends of branchlets, and their weight causes the outer branches to become pendulous during flowering. Flowering is prolonged and prolific, extending from the end of July through winter to early October; an added bonus is the pleasantly sweet fragrance of the flower.
