| Native to South Australia, grows to a maximum height of two metres with a similar spread. Ideal for coastal sandy soil and limestone areas. The stem is slender with smooth bark, the 1.5 cm long "leaves" (phyllodes) are thick, oval in shape and greyish in colour. Flowering are a deep yellow and occur on long stalks during summer. Approx 20 seeds. Germination: 5-15 days Pre-treatment: Pour just-boiled water over seeds in a container and soak for 24 hours. Sow swollen seeds, re-treat others. Sowing: Depth of seed, keep warm and moist, but not wet. Zone: 8-11 |
