The soft leaves of this Acacia can be as bush soap, producing a soapy form when rubbed in water. The "raw'' seeds can be roasted in hot ashes or collected when dry and ground to a flour base. This flour can then be mixed with water and made into a paste or baked as damper. Upright shrub growing 3- 4 metres in height. Fast growing, good for screening. Bright yellow flower spikes around 5cm in length are displayed during the winter months, followed by curled seed pods. The large soft silvery/grey phyllodes(leaves) makes it an attractive foliage plant. Approx 20 seeds Germination: 5-15 days Pre-treatment: Pour just-boiled water over seeds in a container and soak for 24 hours. Sow swollen seeds, re-treat others. Sowing: Depth of seed, keep warm and moist, but not wet.
