| Acacia spectabilis is one of the most popular Acacia in cultivation. Small tree or large shrub up to 6 metres in height with bright-green, "feathery" foliage and prolific, golden-yellow flowers. Flowers in clusters, globular in shape and are produced in long racemes providing a spectacular display in late winter and spring. The flowers are followed by long, wide seed pods about 50-100 mm long. A.spectabilis is easily grown in most temperate areas. It accepts a range of soils provided drainage is reasonable and it is tolerant of at least moderate frost. Mudgee wattle is quick growing and will often flower in its second or third year, flowers best in full sun or dappled shade.
