| Acacia suaveolens is found in heath and woodland on sandstone on the coast and ranges of eastern Australia. The Latin word suaveolens means sweet smelling. The slim plant grows to about 1.5m, with stiff blue-green leaf-like phyllodes up to 12cm long arising at right angles to the angular stems. The pale yellow flower heads occur in groups of 6-10. Acacia suaveolens usually flowers in Winter. 10 seeds Germination: 5-15 days Pre-treatment: Pour just-boiled water over seeds in a container and soak for 24 hours. Sow swollen seeds, re-treat others. Sowing: Depth of seed, keep warm and moist, but not wet. |
