Another all time great Bonsai, that has been grown very successfully for many years. Acer buergeranum is a native to China and Japan and can reach 7m in height at maturity. This low spreading deciduous tree has 75mm tri-lobed leaves that are dark glossy green on the top and blue-green on the undersides. The foliage will turn various shade or reds and oranges sometime in the autumn. In the Spring months Trident Maple will bear yellow flowers which are not that significant.

Acer buergeranum is tolerant of wind, salt, drought, air pollution, and soil compaction but is also used as a decorative patio tree and is a favourite to use as bonsai specimens.
