Tree to 30 m high; bark persistent throughout, grey to red-brown, thin, stringy. Juvenile leaves disjunct, broad-lanceolate, glossy green. White, 0,6 cm flowers borne in clusters of 7-11 during October-December. This tree is major source of pollen for the bee-keeping industry. Well drained loans are preferred.
