| Yellow Box (Eucalyptus melliodora) is a medium sized tree growing up to 30m in height, its trunk is about 1/2 the height of the tree and to 1m in diameter. The bark is rough on the trunk, sometimes loose and flaky, grey-brown or black-brown in colour. The smaller branches are cream or white and branchlets are sometimes waxy. Adult leaves are bluey-green to grey green, juvenile leaves are blueish. E. melliodora is considered to be the best native tree for honey production, the honey produced has a delightful golden colour and an excellent taste. Suited to colder climates.
