| The growth from a single stem producing a thick trunk, with age the bark takes on a smooth wrinkled appearance. The lush foliage of this pincushion adds to its appeal with the new growth appearing with a soft red blush. Leaves have 7–14 glandular teeth. The inflorescence is made up of many flowers forming the flower head which is 70–90 mm in diameter.
