| A silvery grey-leaved rounded shrub, that grows 4 m in height. Deep orange through to crimson flower heads which flower Aug to Dec. The simple elliptic leaves are covered with dense grey hairs. The rounded flower heads are 80-100 mm across. Each flower is tube-like in appearance and made up of velvety floral perianth segments on which the anthers are placed. These surround the long style which escapes from the tube to form the "Pin" and the perianths then curl away from it.
