Seeds of some plant require the chemicals in smoke to germinate, some research has shown that it may also improve the germination rate of others. This smoke paper contains a range of natural chemicals found in smoke, germination rates varies with the spices but, on average treated seeds can double the germination rate. This is not required for all seeds as most will give good germination rates without it and do not need it. Please ask us if it is appropriate to your seed, usually you will find the item description will tell you if it is necessary. Each paper disc is around 70mm in diameter and treats 50ml of water in which the seed is soaked for 24hrs. The disc can be cut into smaller pieces but you must reduce the water in proportion to the size. 1 smoke disc |
