This perennial Artichoke has very attractive deep purple flower buds, often spiky.
A beautiful looking vegetable with its large silver blue foliage and stunning scented, purple, pink flower heads in late summer.
Also an attractive addition to the flower garden.
Prefers a deep rich soil in an open sunny position, frost resistant but drought tender
For best results sow 5mm deep directly into soil where they are to grow.
Tropical: Autumn and Winter.
Temperate: Spring and Autumn.
Cold: Spring.
Germination: 5-7 days.
Plant space: 60cm
Maturity: 52 weeks
