An evergreen conical Fir with glaucous blue green short needle-like foliage 1.5 to 2 cm long and attractive cylindrical cones green-bluish to purplish 9-18cm tall as they mature.
An attractive specimen tree that can be grown in containers when young and is well suited to large gardens and parkland. Widely used in Europe by bonsai enthusiasts for bonsai training.
Occurs naturally in southern Spain and northern Morocco. The Moroccan variety (Moroccan Fir) foliage being less glaucous and has slightly longer cones 11-20cm.
