A small shrub 1–4 metres tall or occasionally a small tree to 7 metres tall with long yellow flowers that occur from March to July or October to November depending on the location.
As with most Acacia, they do have true leaves they have phyllodes.
The phyllodes are mostly arranged diagonally oval-shaped or narrowly oval-shaped 4-12 cm long and 1–3 cm wide, rigid, pale bluish green or milky pale green.
Adaptable the a range of soils as long as it is well drained.Ideal for arid soils.
Full sun to part shade although flowering will be more profuse in full sun.
Silky wattle is found throughout the Northern Territory extending east into Queensland and Western Australia.

Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.
The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
