A fast-growing attractive tree with a dense foliage and creamy yellow and sweetly scented flowers 8 cm long that occur profusely during spring. Leaves are thick and leathery 10-15cm long and 1.5-2.5cm wide.
Another attractive feature of this tree is the twisted seed pods which initially start off straight before coming twisted. Makes a good specimen or shade tree.
Naive to Queensland and the Northern Territory it also occurs naturally in Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea
Adaptable to most soil types, full sun to part shade although flowering will be more profuse in full sun. Drought resistance but frost tender.

Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.
The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
