A multi-stemmed spreading rounded shrub 1 to 4 metres in height that produces globular yellow flowers from March to August in the axils of the phyllodes.
Although it produces true leaves as a seedling, like most members of this section of the genus, the mature plant does not have true leaves but has leaf-like flattened stems called phyllodes.
It occurs naturally in the Gascoyne, Gibson Desert, Little Sandy Desert, Murchison, and Pilbara regions of Western Australia
