Typically a small to a medium fast-growing shrub or small tree with golden yellow round or rod-shaped flowers occur in pairs from stalks at the base of the leaves. Flowering occurs from July to October. Thin phyllodes (leaves) around 2mm wide and 5-16cm long finishing at a point.
Previously known as Acacia acuminata sub speices burkitti.
Endemic to Western Australia extending into South Australia.
Prefers gravelly soil but is adaptable to a range of well-drained soils. Easily grown in most temperate areas, flowers best in full sun, frost hardy and drought tolerant with medium salt tolerance.
For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
