Most Acacia species have phyllodes instead of true leaves.
The phyllodes (leaves) are broad and 6 cm long with the young leaves being bright red.
Occurs in the regions of the Avon Wheatbelt, Jarrah Forest and the Swan Coastal Plain in the south of western Austarlia.
Prefers deep well-draining soils in a protected semi-shaded position. Drought and frost resistant.
For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
