A small tree typically lees than 10 metres in height with compact and moderately hard bark, grey-brown in colour showing red-brown in the fissures.
Young shoots are covered with silky, golden yellow hairs. Ffaintly perfumed almost white to pale yellow flowers 3-4 cm long.
A tree to 25 m tall and 40 cm diameter in moist parts of the tropics, on drier sites of its natural range it is a small tree less than 10 m in height.
Prefers deep well draining soils in a protected semi shaded position. Drought and frost resistant. Suited to areas of high rainfall.
Pre-treatment: Hot Water
Place the seed in a container, pour in just boiled water, and allow to soak overnight.
The swollen seed can then be sown, and seeds that have not swollen can be re-treated.
Sow seed 3-5mm and keep moist. Germination should occur in 10-21 days @ 18-22C.

- Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
- As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to keep them moist but not too wet.
