An attractive wattle with a slender stem and spreading branches with spectacular pale yellow-cream flowers that occurs in winter and spring.
The phyolldes (leaves) are narrow and quite stiff around 5 cm in length.
Native to New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.
Prefers a well drained soil in a sunny position. Drought and frost resistant.
Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.
The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.
- Sow in a well drained mix.
- Soak in water 24 hours
- Next, soak seeds in near boiling water for 24-48 hours,to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
- Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.
- Place in a semi-shaded postion.
- Keep the soil moist, avoid overwatering and ensure it doesn’t dry out.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
