A multi-stemmed shrub that produces elongated flowers between April to August, depending on the location.
It typically grows to a height of 2 to 5 metres with a spreading habit, but it is occasionally found as a conical tree with a height of 4 to 7 metres and crooked stems and branches. Like most species of Acacia, it has phyllodes rather than true leaves. The green to grey green phyllodes have a blueish-coloured tinge and are curved or arched.
The unusual phyllodes have a length of 4 to 9 cm and a diameter of 0.8 to 1.1 mm with many obscure longitudinal nerves.
Drought and frost tolerant. Hardy species are suitable for arid and semi-arid conditions.
Occurs naturally in the Mid West, Pilbara and the Little Sandy Desert regions of Western Australia with smaller populations close to the border with South Australia.
