Acacia meisneri is a dense shur that typically grows to a height 2 metres.

It blooms between November to February and produces flowers that are yellow and held in cylindrical clusters. The spherical flower heads have a diameter of 7 to 8 mm and contain 55 to 110 densely packed brignt yellow  flowers.

Like most Acacia species, it has phyllodes rather than true leaves. These are a grey green colour with a length of 15 to 40 mm and a width of 6 to 30 mm.

The phyllodes have an elliptic to oblanceolate or obovate shape

Acacia meisneri occurs naturaly in the regions of Avon Wheatbelt, Jarrah Forest and the Swan Coastal Plain in Western Austrlia.

An adaptable Acacia that is found in many soil types including Sand, clay, loam, sometimes rocky soils.

For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.

  1.  soak in water for 24-48 hours.
  2. Next, soak seeds in near boiling water overnight to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
  3. Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.

Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.

Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
