An attractive small rounded shrub with a red stem a handsome crown and large and showy flowers of light to deep yellow balls appearing in clusters from winter to summer.
The phyllodes (leaves) are 2-5 cm long and 5-12 mm wide, usually with thickened yellowish margins.
Occurs naturally throughout the temperate regions of Australia and is commonly found in heaths on poor soils derived from sandstone.
Adaptable to most soils and conditions. It is drought and frost-resistant.
For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
