There are over 1200 species of acacia occurring in Australia, making it the largest genus of flowering plants in Australia.
Acacia re-vegetation mixed species. Various sized species.
Acacia can bloom in autumn, winter, or spring, depending on the location and species.
The flowers in this mix can be globular heads or cylindrical spikes.
As with all Acacia, they do not have true leaves; they have modified leaves called phyllodes.
Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.
The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.
- Sow in a well drained mix.
- Soak in water 24 hours
- Next, soak seeds in near boiling water for 24-48 hours,to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
Scatter the seed over the area to be revegetated at 2g m²
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
