Adenium multiflorum is the most well-known of the South African adeniums. It blooms in winter when most of the surrounding vegetation is rather dull compared to the brilliant white, pink, crimson, red, and bicolored flowers that cover these plants when they are in full bloom.
Adeniums are adaptable to most soils, provided they are well-draining and not waterlogged.
Although Adeniums will take full sun, they prefer a protected shaded position receiving only filtered sunlight.
The native range of Adenium multiflorum extends from the dry lands of southeastern Zambia and Malawi through Zimbabwe and Mozambique to South Africa and Eswatini.
The best time to sow Adenium seed is the end of winter to mid-spring.
Keep the container on a warm surface for faster germination. Use a plastic bag to retain moisture.
Water the medium from beneath the seeds daily to prevent damping off.
Only switch to watering from below once the seeds sprout (usually within 7-14 days).
Transplant the seedlings into their pots once they grow their first true leaves.
