A tall variety with single flowers in a beautiful deep maroon colouring with flashes of black and light centres.
Long-blooming they are an excellent addition to traditional cottage-style gardens or mass planting.

Attracts nectar-feeding birds, butterflies and honeybees as when as beneficial insects.

Grow notes:

Prefers a fertile moist well-drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position.

TropicalAutumn to Early Winter.
Temperate: Late Summer & Autumn.
Cool climate: Mid-Summer to Late Autumn.

Sow: 6 mm deep
Best sown direct or sow in trays and transplanted when large enough to handle.
Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny position.

Hollyhocks have a reasonable germination rate.

The best time to sow hollyhock seeds is in the summer months. It is best sown directly into the growing position to give them a head start before the chilly winter.
