Allocasuarina fraseriana is a monoecious tree that typically grows to a height of 5 to 15 meters.
The leaves are reduced to scale-like teeth, measuring 0.7 to 1.2 mm long, and are arranged in whorls of six to eight around the branchlets. The sections of the branchlet between the leaf whorls are 7 to 15 mm long and 0.8 to 1.3 mm in diameter.
Male flowers are arranged in spikes that are 30 to 80 mm long, and red flowers bloom from May to October.
A good tree for river banks and waterways. Useful for soil retention and erosion control.
The timber is renown for wood turning and furniture making.
Early settlers in Western Australia used sheoak timber for roof shingles. Later, it was employed in the construction of kegs and casks. This timber is valued for its broad medullary rays and is often used in woodturning and carving decorative ornaments. The sapwood is pale yellow, while the heartwood ranges from dark red to brown. The texture of the oak wood is moderately fine and even. Greenwood has a density of about 1,000 kg/m³, while the density of air-dried wood is approximately 730 kg/m³.
Allocasuarina fraseriana occurs in the Jarrah Forest, Swan Coastal Plain, and Warren on the southwest coast of Western Australia.
Prefers light to medium soil in an open sunny position. Drought and frost resistant and salt tolerant.

Place in a warm, shaded, or semi-shaded position to avoid dying out.
Keep warm & moist
Germination: 2-6 weeks.
