Green Tails Amaranth, also known as Tassel Flower, is a plant with uniquely green drooping tassels. It blooms quickly, and the tassels lengthen throughout the season, making them ideal for cut flowers and everlasting arrangements.
These unique plants add interest to flower beds and borders, but they may require staking or support.
Green Tails have excellent heat and drought tolerance and prefer well-drained loam, but they can tolerate most soils with good drainage. They're a wonderful choice for beds, borders, and cutting gardens.
This species is native to Africa and India and is used as a grain in some parts of the world.
Amaranth is a warm-season crop.
The best time for sowing the seed:
Amaranth is easy to grow from seed. Cover the seed lightly and keep moist.
Germination: usually 7-10 days
For succession planting, stagger seed sow every 3-4 weeks for continued production.
