Green Mist is commonly kown as False Queen Anne’s Lace or Laceflower.
Ammi Majus and Ammi Visnaga are each a species of the genus Ammi.
The plants look similar in some ways but different in other ways. Ammi Majus has a white, lacy flower similar to Queen Anne's Lace. In contrast, Ammi Visnaga features a more solid and larger flower with a rounded top and a green tinge in the blooms, especially when immature.
Growing to 80 cm tall with finely divided leaves, they produce beautiful white flowers in clusters up to 15cm across. The flower stalks are wonderful for cutting or drying. The flowers attract beneficial insects and birds who will eat the seeds.
The flowers make attractive vase flowers or dry as Everlastings.
Plants typically self-seed in the garden, dropping their seeds on the soil at the end of the season and growing the following season.
Deadheading will prolong blooming.
A great companion plant and makes an excellent cut flower with a long vase life. prefers a full sun position.
Growing flowers from seed is easy and extremely popular.
Ammi seeds require light to germinate, so do not cover them when sowing.
If you live in a warm climate, sow the seeds in autumn for next spring's flowering.
In a cold climate, sow the seeds as early as you can in the spring.
Germination generally occurs in 7-21 days at the optimum temperature of 15-20⁰C
