An heirloom variety of Asparagus from the USA dating back to 1919. Arriving in Australia in the late 1920's it became one of the most popular varieties in Australia during the 1940's.
An early maturing vigorous Asparagus that produces long delicious straight large spears with tight purple-tinted tips.
Resistance to some types of rust.

Gow notes:

Prefers a well-composted moist well-drained soils in an open sunny position. Frost resistant but drought tender.

Tropical: Autumn and Winter. 
Temperate: Winter and Spring.
Cold: Spring.

Sow: 30mm deep.
For best results sow directly into the soil where they are to grow.
Germination: 21 days.
Plant space: 20cm
Row space: 20cm
Maturity: 104 weeks

Feed regularly with a soluble fertiliser for stronger plants. To promote new growth harvest continuously.
