ASTER Balloon Silver Blue - CALLISTEPHUS chinensis

Characteristics: Annual 60-70 cm

A cut flower type of Aster that produces medium to large Silver Blue flowers with strong stems. Flowers are 12-15cm in diameter, and the plant is 60-70cm high. Plants have a pyramidal growth habit. Pinch off faded flowers to encourage new blooms.
Adaptable to most soils but prefers a light to medium soil in an open sunny position.
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
The best time to sow the seed is in Spring after the last frost.
- Plant the seeds in well-draining soil as they prefer moist soil but don’t like to be waterlogged.
- Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil and keep them moist but not wet.
- Position the pots in a warm and bright location, but not in direct sunlight.
- Once the seedlings emerge, you can transplant them into individual pots or your garden
Germination: 10 to 21 days.

- As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
