Similar in colour to the "Bull’s Blood" Red devil is a darker maroon colour primary grown for its vibrant magenta-red tops. The young leave can be harvested at around 30 days for use as excellent baby leaves or microgreens to add a bright colour to any salad bowl mix.

The leaf veins fade into the medium green leaves as it matures and can be used as steamed or boiled vegetable leaves similar to silver beet or spinach.

Grow notes:

Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils prefers an open sunny position.

Temperate: Spring to Autumn
Cold: Spring to Autumn

Sow: 10mm deep.
Sow direct or in trays of a quality seed raising mix and transplant when 5-6cm tall.
Germination: 6-7 days.
Plant space: 30cm
Row space: 30cm
Maturity: 8 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants. Pick leaves continuously to promote new growth.
