An exceptional heirloom variety this outstanding beetroot has dark red flesh showing pleasant, buttery texture and mild, sweet flavour.
Award winner in 1957 that is still used in the commercial canning industry and home food preservers.

Sow: 12mm deep
For best results grow in trays of a quality seed raising mix transplant when 6cm high. Alternatively sow direct and thin to strongest plant.

Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position. Avoid deformed beets by planting them in loose soil free from stones or rocks.
