Capsicum Medusa are a type of sweet, ornamental chili pepper bearing non-pungent fruits that grow upright and brightly coloured. Fruits are narrow around 5cm long and change from green to orange as they mature before finally turning red.

Unlike most chili peppers they are very mild which a heat range from 1 to 1000 on the Scoville heat scale.

Often grown as an ornamental the fruits are edible and have a sweet taste like capsicum.

Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers a well-drained, well fed soil in a sunny position. Annual in temperate climates perennial in the tropics.

Capsicums require warmth for germination, if starting early provide warmth.

Cold: Spring to Summer

Sow: 6mm deep.
Grow in trays of a good seed raising mix and transplant when 6-7cm tall.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 50cm
Row space: 50cm
Maturity: 10-12 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
