Plush as velvet the double fringed flowers of Grenadin King of the Blacks are the darkest to be found. The double clove-scented blossoms are displayed profusely on slender sturdy stems.
Use in rock gardens, containers or well-drained mixed beds and borders. Their lovely blossoms also make excellent long lasting cut flowers.
Adaptable to most well-drained soils in a sunny position. Fertile soils will produce the best blooms, avoid waterlogged soils.
Tropical: Mid-Autumn to Spring.
Temperate: Autumn to Spring.
Cold: Autumn to Spring.
Sow: 6mm deep.
Grow in trays transplant when large enough to handle (about 4-5 weeks) avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 30-40cm
Flowering: 26 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
