A very old heirloom variety that is still widely grown in the USA today.
Vigorously growing plant from 24-30cm tall that produces medium to thick-skinned two-celled fruits 15-20cm long and 3-4cm wide with tapering to a point, changing from deep green to bright scarlet when mature.
An excellent variety of chili for stuffing or as a garnish for Mexican dishes.
Medium heat measuring 500-2500 Scoville Heat Units.
Grow notes:
Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers well-drained, well-fed soil in a sunny position. Annual in temperate climates and perennial in the tropics.
Capsicums require warmth for germination, if starting early provide warmth.
