Tepin produces small round/oval very hot chilli's, the spicy fruits ripen green to red/orange.
Tepin is a wild chile pepper that grows in parts of Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico. It is sometimes called the "mother of all peppers," because it is thought to be the oldest form in the Capsicum annuum species. It is a Chilli that can be extremely hot, measuring between 100,000 and 250,000 Scoville Units.

Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers a well-drained, well fed soil in a sunny position. Annual in temperate climates perennial in the tropics.

Capsicums require warmth for germination, if starting early provide warmth.

Cold: Mid-Spring to Early Summer

Sow: 6mm deep.
Grow in trays of a good seed raising mix and transplant when 6-7cm tall.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 50cm
Row space: 50cm
Maturity: 10-12 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
