Commonly known as “Delicate Clematis” is an attractive vine that grows to around 2 metres (6’) producing pinkish cream flowers with a darker centre late winter and spring.
Prefers a light well drained soil in an open sunny position. Drought and frost tender.
Endemic to Western Australia.
Seed is usually best sown in spring or autumn in temperate climates, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination of this genus is around 21-24°C for this species.
Pre-treatment of smoke is recommended for this species.
Research has shown that many members of this genus to be responsive to pre-treatment of smoke. Although germination will may occur without smoke treatment it has proved be beneficial in reducing the number of days to germination and increasing germination rates of this species.
