Sunburst is a wonderful showy Southern U.S. native that produces a prolific display of golden-yellow double flowers on a bushy plant throughout summer and autumn, pruning keeps the plants abundant with blooms.
Adaptable to practically any well-drained soil in a sunny position, avoid waterlogged soils. Well suited to sandier soils and once established requires minimal water.
Easy to grow. Suitable for the front of the border, wildflower mixtures, naturalizing, rockeries and pollinator gardens. Attracts honeybees and butterflies.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Autumn to early winter.
Temperate: Winter and spring.
Cold: Late summer to early autumn or mid-spring.
Sow: Sow on the surface and firm into the soil, covering just enough to hold the seed in place. Keep moist whilst germination occurs.
For best results sow directly into the soil where they are to grow.
Germination: 10-14 days at 15-20°C
Plant space: 20-30cm
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
