Cosmos Bright Lights Mix is an outstanding blend of 5-8 cm yellow, orange, gold and scarlet flowers that occur during spring & summer in most Australian states and winter in northern states of Australia.
Harvest the blooms in the early morning, selecting stems with flowers that have just opened.

Cosmos are suitable for beds and borders and the pollinator garden, where they attract birds, butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects.
Popular as cut flowers.
The plants thrive on neglect and re-seed themselves quickly, making them an excellent choice for wildflower meadows or naturalising areas.

Cosmos sulphureus originates from the wildflower meadows of Mexico, Central America, and northern South America and has become naturalised in other parts of North and South America as well as in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

The best time of year to sow Cosmos seeds is mid-spring to mid-summer in cold zones.
In temperate zones, the best time is early spring to mid-summer. In tropical zones seed should be sown in the dry mid-Autumn to late winter is best.

  1. Best sown 6 mm directly where they are to grow.
  2. If sowing in trays transplant when large enough to handle.
  3. If mass planting as a meadow scatter seeds and rake over

Germination: 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 20-25°C

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate; keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • Customers should do their due diligence to ensure the product suits their region.
