A compact and low-growing Dianthus variety with large, single flowers with serrated petals. Colours include crimson, rose, red, white, and bicolors.
Dianthus blooms in the summer for 8 to 10 weeks and will sometimes bloom again in the autumn.
Ideal for bedding, the front of a border. containers or planting in mass as a ground cover.
Adaptable to most well-drained soils in a sunny position. Fertile soils will produce the best blooms, avoid waterlogged soils.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Early Autumn to Late Spring.
Temperate: Late Summer to Late Spring.
Cold: Autumn & Spring.
Sow: 3mm deep.
Grow in trays transplant when large enough to handle (about 4-5 weeks) to avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 15-30cm
Flowering: 18-20 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
