Dianthus Carmine Red has very vivid 1-2cm carmine-red flowers that appear at the end of 15-18cm stems.
An effective plant that can be used in borders, edging, rockeries, baskets or pots. Stunning mass planted as a flowering ground cover. Establishes readily from seed.
Adaptable to most well-drained soils in a sunny position. Fertile soils will produce the best blooms, avoid waterlogged soils.
Tropical: Early Autumn to Late Spring.
Temperate: Late Summer to Late Spring.
Cold: Autumn & Spring.
Sow: 3mm deep.
Grow in trays transplant when large enough to handle (about 4-5 weeks) avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 15-30cm
Flowering: 18-20 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
