A hardy and rewarding variety of Dianthus with bright scarlet flowers that occur profusely over a long period above dense prostrate spreading mats of green foliage.
A good choice for poor soils and hot, sunny positions. A popular rockery or container plant.
Trim back lightly after first flowering. Plants can be divided early spring or autumn.
Dianthus blooms in the summer for 8 to 10 weeks and will sometimes bloom again in the autumn.
Adaptable to most well-drained soils in a sunny position. Fertile soils will produce the best blooms, avoid waterlogged soils.
Tropical: Early Autumn to Late Spring.
Temperate: Late Summer to Late Spring.
Cold: Autumn & Spring.
Sow: 3mm deep.
Grow in trays transplant when large enough to handle (about 4-5 weeks) avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.

Flowering: 18-20 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
