A small tree or mallee with a rough-barked trunk that is complimented with a lovely smooth grey bark on the branches. 
Green-yellow flower bud caps open to a creamy yellow flower up to 5cm across. Flowers appear in late winter through to December.

Not often cultivated which is a pity as it is a great honey-making tree attracting the birds and bees when in flower. A good windbreak tree.
Endemic to the central wheat belt region of Western Australia.

Prefers a well-drained sandy soil in an open sunny position, drought resistant and frost tender when young.

Best sown in spring or autumn in temperate climates, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum temperature for germination is around 18-22°C
Sow seed in a seed-raising mix just below the surface.
Water with a fine mist spray to avoid disturbance of the seed.
Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days.
