Eucalyptus forrestiana, also known as Fuchsia Gum, is a small and bushy Mallee tree that can grow up to 1-4 m tall and 3m wide. It has bright red buds that open up to reveal attractive yellow flowers.
It is well-suited to drier areas and its flowers and fruit are commonly used for cut flowers.
It is a small mallee or bushy tree that is easily recognizable by its large four-sided winged buds that are bright red. The horn-capped pendulous buds are grouped long before opening to the mass of beautiful yellow flowers.
This tree makes a great specimen tree and is ideal for attracting native birds to your garden.
Although seed can be sown most of the year around if you avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year, the best time to sow is generally spring.
Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days at a soil temperature of 18-22°C
