Eucalyptus lane-pool is a small tree or malle shrub 4-10 metres in height that displays flower buds in groups of seven that open to attractive creamy white flowers. The salmon white gum grows to a height of 3–12 m and has smooth whitish grey bark around the coastal regions and orange-brown bark the further east you go.

The leaves are narrow, lance-shaped, or curved adult.

Commonly known as salmon white gum, it is a species of tree or mallee endemic to Western Australia that occurs naturally on the west coast in the Wheatbelt, Peel, and Southwest regions of Western Australia.

Adapatable to sandy, loam or gravel soils in a sunny position

It's generally best to sow Eucalyptus seeds in spring, avoiding the coldest and hottest months. To mimic the soil they need in their natural environment, you'll want to use a free-draining growing mix, ideally with some organic compost.

Avoid using a potting mix. For fine seeds, sow them on the surface and lightly cover them with the growing mix, avoiding burying the seeds deeply.

For larger seeds, sow them at a depth equal to their size. Water the seeds gently with a fine mist spray to prevent disturbing them.

Germination occurs in around 10-28 days at a soil temperature of 18-22°C

*Please note:

  • Please don't be too quick to throw away seeds that don't germinate.
  • Seeds may remain dormant until conditions are suitable for their natural germination requirements.
  • All seeds need sufficient water to germinate; keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • Customers should research to ensure the seeds are suitable for their region.
