A fast-growing small tree with very attractive bright yellow flowers that occur during the summer.
A very robust species with a shapely dense crown that is fast growing and with a rough dark bark at the base of the truck and greyish to reddish bark above.

An erect tree to 12 metres in height but is often seen as smaller, between 6 and 10 metres.

Native to the Goldfields area of Western Australia between Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie, and Norseman.

It prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soil and is tolerant of salt-affected soils. Prefers an open sunny position, drought and frost-resistant. Flourish's in arid climates with rainfall of 180 to 250mm annually.

Best sown in spring or autumn in temperate climates; avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum temperature for germination is around 18-22°C
Sow seed in a seed-raising mix just below the surface.
Water with a fine mist spray to avoid disturbance of the seed.
Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days.

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
