A fast growing stunning variety with an attractive shade of orange flowers. Ideal for use in annual borders adding colour and equally good as cut flowers.
Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers a moist, well-drained average soil in a sunny position.
Clarkia is an easy flower to grow from seed.
- The best time to sow Clarkia seeds directly outdoors is in the spring after the danger of frost has passed.
- Choose a location that receives full sun or partial shade.
- Add some compost or organic matter for good drainage. Sow seeds about 5mm deep and keep the soil moist until germination, which usually takes 1-2 weeks.
- Once the seedlings are about 10cm tall, thin them out for good air circulation.
