Gossypium robinsonii is an erect shrub 1-3 metres high that produces attractive blue-purple/pink Hibiscus-like flowers from July to November.
The flowers have five petals, more deeply coloured at the base and five centimetres across.
Typically with an erect branching stem with leaves that have coarsely serrated margins.The leaves are 40-115 millimetres long and 45-110 millimetres wide three-part lobed.
Often grows in calcareous soils (high PH) stony loam, and Rocky watercourses.
Prefers a sunny or partly shaded position, drought and frost resistant.
Occurs naturally in Carnarvon, Gascoyne, Little Sandy Desert, Pilbara, and Victoria Bonaparte in Western Australia.

Gossypium propagation is easy from seed.
The best time to sow seed is:
Cool climates: September to May.
Temperate climates: September to May.
Sub-Tropical climates: August to May
Tropical climates: September to November or March to May.
Arid climates: August to May.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
