A member of the Squash family GOURD Bitter long is a very popular tropical climber with vines that grow 5-6 metres tall with warted skin cucumber-like fruits that are crisp and tender when harvesting young, 25-30 cm long. Also known as Bitter Squash.
A summer variety that is used extensively in Asian and Indian cuisine including stir-fries and curries.

Adaptable to most good garden soils but prefers rich soil with a generous amount of water in full sun.
